Ben Tour

Ben Tour is a Canadian illustrator from Toronto with a recognizable style — drawing inspiration from figurative art and graffiti culture. His observations deftly inform his paintings, enabling him to capture the essence of a character, then distort that view any way he desires. Frenetic lines, swaths of colour and intimate angles all convey a sense that Tour may not only be drawing inspiration from the lives of strangers but manifesting his own experiences as well.

Ben has worked on murals, album art, editorial illustration, brand commissions and self-directed fine art as well as being an in-house illustrator for Color Magazine (2003-2013). His album art for musician Bohdi Jones ‘Bones’ album (2013) was nominated for a JUNO for best album artwork. He has shown in Galleries across Canada and the US, most notably at LA’s BLK/MRKT Gallery (2005-2007), SF’s 50/24 Gallery (2008) and Joshua Liner Gallery (2009).

Ben lives on the Sunshine Coast, British Columbia.
