I spent the majority of my life in the working world in Vancouver plus being a mother. My association with the Sunshine Coast started many years ago as a girl having family summer holidays here and more recently co-owning a small beach house on the Esplanade.
My introduction to abstract painting came through a very tragic time in my life. Painting gave me periods of time to escape from the grief and feel some happiness. Many years have passed since I began painting and it has become my passion. I have been taking lessons with Davide Merino for several years. I like to work with acrylic with different textures. I often do not have a set plan of what I will paint until I sit in front of a canvas. Painting has made me so much more aware of things around me and I see colours in a different way.
