Artist Statement

Matted Menagerie: An Exploration of Colour and Luminosity showcases a vibrant collection of animal portraits where glossy subjects meet bold, matte backgrounds. This contrast not only brings each creature to life but also highlights an exploration of colour beyond my usual palette. With this series, I’ve pushed myself to experiment, balancing luminosity with restraint, playfulness with depth. I can’t wait to share these new works with you!
